Naftali Group beautified its construction site at 221 West 77th Street, inviting 70+ school-age children from the Jewish Community Center Manhattan to work on a mural project.
Under the direction of artist Jason Griffin, the children worked to create the 75 feet long, eight feet tall work of art along the south side of the building.
With a theme of “Building Community,” the children drew a brightly colored cityscape, complete with handprints and rainbows. Children and their families wore oversize t-shirts and hardhats, while enjoying snacks from Treathouse. They also had a chance to check out a fire truck from FDNY Ladder Company 25.
Naftali Group said in a release that the project is “emblematic of [their] commitment to beautify [the] central UWS block.” 221 West 77 is located in the heart of the Upper West Side, between Central Park and Riverside Park, and its design references the history of the area.
Designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen and Goldstein Hill & West Architects, 221 West 77 will feature floor-to-ceiling windows give units an open and airy feel, while also referencing the Upper West Side’s classic casement windows, leading to Juliet balconies. The development will also feature numerous rooftop terraces thanks to an innovative “staircase” façade.
Residents at 221 West 77 will have access to a number of industry-leading amenities, giving the feel of a boutique hotel. 221 West 77 will feature a basketball court, gym, wood-paneled library, community terrace and resident’s lounge complete with pool table.
Currently under construction and scheduled for completion next year, 221 West 77 will be 18-stories with 26 units. Residences range in price from $4,050,000 to $12,750,000, and are available with two to five bedrooms, in half and full floors
